Who Is Emilyg?
Emily Grace Spirn is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. After earning her B.A. in Media from Indiana University, she moved to Chicago to pursue a career in marketing, media, and fashion. Of all the things that inspire her, few have remained as prevelant as fashion.
Emily believes that what we wear should make us feel confident, bold, and entirely ourselves—and that personal style doesn’t have to come at the expense of the planet.
Her interest in sustainable fashion began in 2018, when she first discovered thrifting. What started as a love for finding one-of-a-kind pieces quickly developed into a deeper interest in the environmental impact of the fashion industry and the way we consume clothing. The more she learned, the more intentional she became about what she bought, where it came from, and what happened to it when she was finished with it.
Of course, sustainability wasn’t the only appeal. There was something exciting about finding a piece with a history—something unexpected that couldn’t be found on every rack or replicated in every closet. After all, personal style is supposed to be personal. Duh.
Fashion has always been a defining part of Emily’s identity. From a very young age, she insisted on choosing her own outfits—even if, in retrospect, some of those choices were more experimental than successful. Over time, that early independence evolved into a genuine appreciation for personal style: how it changes, how it communicates who we are, and how the right clothes can completely transform the way we carry ourselves.
Thankfully, her style has evolved quite a bit over the years. See for yourself…
